Candidate’s FAQ
What can I expect during the interview process?
What does saas.group do?
saas.group is a portfolio company that acquires SaaS startups and helps them level up. We handle “the behind-the-scenes work” — operations —so brands can focus on building and growing their products. We’re all about taking startups to the next stage. Want to know who’s in the group? Meet the family.
What is the setup of saas.group?
At saas.group, we believe in giving each brand the freedom to run independently, which is why every startup has its own leadership team. At the same time, we’ve also created a central team with departments like marketing, AI, finance, People, DevOps, and more. The central team is there to support the brands based on what they need, whether it’s help with campaigns, advice on product strategy, a design improvement, hiring for their teams or other day-to-day operations. It’s all about striking the right balance—letting the brands lead while providing the support to help them grow and succeed.
If I am hired for a specific brand, will I have the change to move between products later?
You will primarily be focused on the brand you are hired to work with. However, internal mobility is possible after you’ve spent at least a year with one brand. If a relevant opportunity opens up that matches your skills and experience, you can apply internally as a candidate. We ensure that there is a strong fit in terms of both qualifications and team dynamics, so you would still go through the same selection process to ensure fairness to all candidates.
What is the company culture like at saas.group?
At saas.group, we trust our people and give them the freedom to work in a way that suits them best. No micromanaging – just the flexibility to do what you do best. We’re looking for independent thinkers who can take charge and deliver results, without needing someone to look over their shoulder. It’s all about balance: deliver great work, own your projects, and enjoy the support of a great team. If you like the sound of that, we might be the perfect fit for you. 💪 We believe that our values are what keep us moving forward as a team. They guide how we work, communicate, and grow together:
Accountability – We take full ownership and authority over our work.
Independence – We trust each others’ skills and abilities to get the job done.
Honesty – We are respectful and straightforward with one another.
Courage – Every day, we challenge the status quo. We’re bold and willing to learn.
Where are your offices located, and do you offer remote work?
At saas.group, we’re remote first! Some of our brands have offices (e.g. in Munich), we also use some of the co-working spaces to facilitate exchange. 🌍 Whether you’re working from home, your favorite café, or traveling the world, as long as you have a strong internet connection, you’re good to go. But we still love to meet up! Every 1 – 2 years, the whole team gets together for an epic group-level offsite. We’ve already explored Lisbon and Barcelona, and next up is Marrakesh! (Check out the highlights from Lisbon and Barcelona).
If you’re in the same city as other team members, we’ve got city-specific Slack channels where people can meet for coffee, lunch, or even a co-working session. Remote doesn’t mean disconnected!
Does saas.group encourage diversity and inclusion in the workplace?
Absolutely! At saas.group, we’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone is welcomed and respected, no matter their background or identity. We believe diversity makes us stronger, and inclusion means more than just welcoming different perspectives—it’s about actively listening to people and understanding their needs. We strive to ensure that everyone feels valued, supported, and able to contribute their best. Diversity and inclusion aren’t just policies for us—they’re part of our everyday culture.
What is the management style at saas.group?
saas.group has a flat structure where titles take a back seat. The founders treat us as partners, fostering an environment built on mutual respect and collaboration. Everyone’s ideas and contributions matter, and we focus on working as a team to reach our shared goals.
How do you make sure that team members report to work on time/how do you manage a remote team?
We operate on a foundation of trust and flexibility. It’s up to you how you manage your work—whether that’s how you structure your day or approach your tasks. As long as the job gets done and you’re meeting expectations, we have no questions or concerns. We trust you to handle your responsibilities, and if any issues come up, we trust you’ll communicate with the team. This is all about empowering you to do your best work in the way that suits you.
How does saas.group support the professional development of its employees?
We put you in the driver’s seat when it comes to your growth. We fully support development and encourage you to propose whatever you think will help you better in your current role—whether that’s a conference, a course, or something else entirely. The best part? You get to choose what fits your learning style and schedule. It’s all about growing in a way that works for you and boosts what you’re doing right now.
How long does the hiring process take?
How do I apply for a position at saas.group?
It’s simple! Just head over to our careers page, where you can browse through all the available roles and find the one that fits you best. Each listing includes a detailed job description and an application form, which usually comes with a few application questions to help us get to know you better. Once you find the perfect role, submit your application and we’ll take it from there!
Can I apply for more than one position at the same time?
Yes, it’s possible, especially if the roles are quite similar. However, we encourage you to focus on the main position you’re most interested in, as the hiring process can vary depending on the brand. Each brand has different needs and expectations, so it’s best to go through the process for the role that aligns most with your skills and interests.
Can I update my application after submission?
Unfortunately, it’s not possible. That’s why we encourage you to be extra attentive when filling out your application form. Make sure everything is in order before hitting submit!
How does saas.group handle data privacy during the application process?
We take data privacy seriously and follow GDPR guidelines. We use Greenhouse, an Application Tracking System (ATS) that is fully compliant with GDPR. Your data is automatically removed after 12 months, but if you ever want it deleted sooner, just let us know, and we’ll remove it right away.
Interview Process
What can I expect during the interview process?
We encourage you to dive into our “How to Prepare for the Interview at saas.group” document. It’s got everything you need to know, including what to expect and how to get ready. Each interview may vary depending on the role and the brand, but we’ll always keep the process clear and transparent.
How long does the hiring process take?
The hiring process typically takes up to 4-6 weeks. However, we do our best to keep things moving quickly and efficiently. We’ll keep you in the loop at every stage, so you’re not left wondering what’s next.
How will I know if my application was successful?
We value transparency and communication throughout the process. If you’re progressing to the next stage, our Talent Acquisition Partner will reach out to you directly. If your application does not progress, we will notify you by email. For candidates who make it past the Hiring Manager interview stage, we provide detailed feedback to help you in future opportunities.
Can I reapply if I wasn’t selected for a role?
Of course! If you didn’t make it this time, we’d love to stay connected. Your skills and background could fit a different challenge better. Feel free to connect with us on LinkedIn, review the feedback from our Talent Acquisition Partner, and consider building on any areas for improvement. We’d be happy to see you reapply when the time feels right!
How many stages are there in your interview process?
We typically stick to 4 stages in our interview process, but for some roles, there may be additional stages depending on the requirements of the position.
What should I wear to the interview?
We recommend smart casual—nothing too formal, just something that feels professional and comfortable.
Will I be interviewed virtually or in person?
Because we’re a remote first company, all interviews are held virtually via video call. You can take the call from wherever you prefer, just make sure your internet connection is reliable.
Do you offer VISA sponsorship and relocation package?
No, we don’t offer VISA sponsorship or relocation packages, as we’re a fully remote company. You’re free to work from wherever you’re based and we don’t require our colleagues to move to a specific location.
I was asked to share references with the Talent Acquisition Partner, should I let them know that they will be contacted, or will saas.group directly reach out to them?
We usually ask for contacts of two of your past managers or colleagues you’ve worked with closely. It would be helpful if you could share their LinkedIn profiles, email addresses, or phone numbers, and let them know that we’ll be reaching out to them soon for a chat.
Remote Work
How does saas.group support employees working remotely?
We are committed to ensuring our remote team have the resources and support they need to thrive. This includes providing the necessary software resources, working asynchronously with flexible working hours, utilising various platforms for communication and collaboration, supporting continuous growth and development, and hosting team events like our company-wide saas.grouping!
Our onboarding process is designed to welcome you and get you up to speed so that you feel comfortable and confident to dive into your new role at saas.group. We encourage our new team members to join our social slack channels, where you can meet other team members from all brands and get involved in specific topics that interest you! We also have functional slack channels where you can share your experiences or learn from your peers.
Later on, you’ll be included in our quarterly people initiatives. This includes our Q1 and Q3 people surveys that measure engagement and your feedback on how things are going at saas.group. These survey results are discussed within teams to build out action plans for improvement. We also run Q2 and Q4 performance cycles, focused on your development to enhance performance and growth, as well as exploring feedback from yourself, your peers, and management.
What tools and technologies does saas.group use for remote work?
We’ve got a bunch of tools that help us stay on track while working remotely. Slack is our go-to for communication, Google Workspace is great for collaboration, and we use Notion as our internal knowledge base. We also rely on Asana and Miro. These are the standard tools we use across all the brands at saas.group, but we also have specialized tools tailored for different technical, financial, and management needs that vary by function and brand.
Are there opportunities to work from a different country if hired for a remote role?
Yes, you can travel and work from different countries temporarily, but please check with your manager first. We also follow a guideline that the time zone difference should be no more than 4 hours. Additionally, you’ll need to ensure you’re compliant with local employment laws and that you’re covered by insurance in the country you plan to work from.
If you’re planning on relocating permanently to another country, this will require a discussion with your manager and an assessment of whether we can accommodate a work contract in that specific location. Our ability to support permanent relocation depends on various factors, including local employment laws and tax regulations in the new country.
What is the onboarding process like for remote employees?
Once your offer has been accepted, our People Operations Managers will be in touch to arrange for completion of contracts and onboarding to our standard tools. You will be invited to our HRIS BambooHR which guides you through our company onboarding process and tasks. We’ll also meet with you on your first day to cover some basics and invite you to a group onboarding call in the first few weeks with other recent joiners for an in-depth session on life at saas.group.
Your new manager will also reach out to meet with you on your first day and set-up a functional onboarding plan to get you up and running for your role as quickly as possible!
